When High-Tech Meets Performance.
Kayaking is a sport rooted in tradition yet constantly pushing its boundaries. The apparent immutability of the sport drives innovation. Enter Manta - the new generation of whitewater slalom kayaks, developed and co-designed by Ed Wolffhardt, the Vice World Champion in Kayaking in 1997. The key advantage of the Manta lies in its enhanced maneuverability and optimized stability during paddling. This enables more precise cornering, giving Manta a clear advantage in the slalom course. Additionally, the kayak’s shallow draft and the “fin effect” contribute to the performance of its carbon body when turning. The design clearly accentuates these benefits. The side edge, which forms a double wave (carving edge), facilitates turning in corners. The tapered edges on the top hull create space for the paddler’s legs and ensure even distribution of volume in the boat. The shape allows for a very shallow draft. The curvature of the spray skirt is ergonomically tailored to the human body, creating a symbiotic relationship between athlete and equipment.
